blog #3 Slice of life

My slice of life moment was in 4th grade because I would naturally feel motivated and get an adrenaline rush when the teacher would consistently use my writing as an example to other students on how to effectively write essays. She would also call on me regularly to tutor other students in writing essays. The thing that excited me the most is knowing that my hard work was not going unnoticed. I was a very humble student so it was clearly not an ego thing with me. I took my writing very seriously in the 4th grade because I was passionate about competing in writing and spelling bee contests. I strongly feel that it enhanced my motivation because feedback is very essential when striving to reach your highest potential in writing. I feel that as a future teacher, I would automatically understand the challenges my students face in writing because I started taking writing serious at a very early age.

blog # 4 exploring reading lives

 I basically have a habit of keeping my Bomer book or other essential books in my backpack since I am taking courses that are very busy on blackboard. This keeps me from running back to my apartment for my book when I have an assignment that is due. I also keeps these books in the outer section of my backpack so I do not have to dig around in my backpack for it. My reading appointments with books are usually in the late evenings since this is the time of day that I am the most relaxed and less busy. This is also the time I read any type of books. I enjoy reading in the HBU library or at home because it is a warm comfortable environment away from the outdoor elements. I find it easy to read at school as well but the bed or the kitchen table is way too challenging because I tend to fall asleep instantly in the bedroom. blog #7 Slice of life

 Sometimes I have no idea what to write about. Once I find a topic that interest me, I am as focused as a rat trying to get to a piece of cheese. Finding the three main points to list in my introduction can appear as challenging as putting together a puzzle. Once I brainstorm and get my thoughts and ideas together. it feels as if I can write blind folded. When I get stuck in the middle of my writing, three minute meditation is always the key to me refreshing my memory on things I already know. If my writing can make the audience feel like they are a part of my story, I am confident I have done my job as a writer.

one word

 The one word that I picked for the semester is integrity. I chose integrity because strong moral principles and honesty is something that will carry you a long way in this world regardless of the career path you decide to take. Integrity is related to literacy in the secondary schools because it is essential for students to behave ethically and do the right thing even when others are doing the wrong thing. I am going to keep this word in my mind this semester because I am passionate about living according to my deepest values by being honest regardless of who I am around. My goal is to be considered for essential promotions and leadership positions so integrity is a great factor when it comes to encountering these wonderful type of opportunities.
