Blog post #8 Chapter 11

 Reading into memory was a interesting topic in the book because thinking about my life and experiences is the main thing that made me interested in writing. When I think about things that happened in my life, it was either a blessing or a lesson. Experience is the best teacher so writing about what certain experiences has taught me is very exciting. You may think that the experiences in your life may be boring but others may find it interesting when you write about it. The key is finding the right experiences in your life to write about that you feel can teach others. Another topic in the book I chose to discuss is thinking toward writing. When you are at the coffee shop grabbing coffee, that is a good time to meditate and think about what has happened in your life that's considered a teachable moment. blog #7 Slice of life

 Sometimes I have no idea what to write about. Once I find a topic that interest me, I am as focused as a rat trying to get to a piece of cheese. Finding the three main points to list in my introduction can appear as challenging as putting together a puzzle. Once I brainstorm and get my thoughts and ideas together. it feels as if I can write blind folded. When I get stuck in the middle of my writing, three minute meditation is always the key to me refreshing my memory on things I already know. If my writing can make the audience feel like they are a part of my story, I am confident I have done my job as a writer.

 I learned from the book head, heart, and connections that you can feel emotions such as empathy when you are reading because you are able to effectively put yourself in the character shoes. This is most prevalent when you have went through similar experiences as the character in the book that you are reading. There are also mental images that come into your mind when you are reading an interesting book. The interesting thing about reading is it does not just cram information in your brain but it can change how your brain work and interpret what you are reading. You can also learn interesting information about yourself when you are reading because you can experience different emotions that reminds you of an event in your life. This can help in the classroom because when students learn how to interpret what they are feeling when they are reading it can enhance their academic success in the classroom.
